Pigs in a blanket are such an easy and popular snack option that you probably see everywhere. Birthday parties, superbowl parties, you name it, it’s almost always on the menu. And my toddler loves them. I can’t blame her! But I wanted to find a way to make them a little more nutritious so I stuffed each little blanket with a slice of zucchini and made hidden veggie pigs in a blanket instead!
My daughter has no idea there’s any veggie in there, they hide so well inside the croissant rolls. Your toddlers and kiddos of all ages are going to love these for lunch, or a snack, and you won’t feel bad letting them eat these since they have veggies inside!

Ingredients Needed for Hidden Veggie Pigs in a Blanket
Croissant Rolls: Any type of crescent rolls work here. Most come in packs of 8, which you will cut in half to make 16.
Mini Hot Dogs: Typically called little smokies, or cocktail smokies, they’re little hot dogs perfect for these hidden veggie pigs in a blanket. Alternatively, you could use full sized hot dogs and just cut them into small pieces.
Cheddar Cheese: I recommend either using cheese sticks or slices and cutting them into small pieces. You could use shredded cheddar, but it will be a lot messier trying to fit it into the croissant rolls.
Zucchini: For one batch (16 pigs in a blanket) you’ll need about half of one medium zucchini. Slice them thin so they roll up well into the croissants.
