Looking for a nutritious breakfast option for your toddler? These easy spinach waffles are filled with protein and an easy way to get your little to eat more greens.
With only 4 ingredients, this quick and easy recipe can be made any day of the week! My Daughter devours them and begs for more! I serve them topped with yogurt for breakfast, or dry as an easy and mess-free snack on the go!
It’s especially great for travel days when we want to keep her full while offering healthy food that doesn’t make a mess all over her clothes.

Ingredients Needed for Spinach Waffles
Kodiak Flapjack Mix: I love using Kodiak flapjack mix for these easy spinach waffles because they’re made from whole grains and include lots of protein. Its a healthier alternative to the other mixes. You can of course use any mix you want, just be sure to go by the ingredients needed based on the mix you choose.
Spinach: I use fresh or frozen spinach for this recipe, whatever I have on hand! But it’s important to note that you need the frozen spinach to be thawed first, so pop it in the microwave before adding it to the blender. Use all the excess water that comes from thawing!
Milk: I use organic whole milk for this recipe to give my toddler the healthy fats that she needs for brain development. You can use any milk, dairy or non-dairy, that you want in this recipe. Or you can use water instead!
Oil: Any oil is okay, but I always use extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil when I make these. They’re the healthier options in my opinion!
Baby Led Weaning for Spinach Waffles
These delicious spinach waffles can be served as early as 6 months old. I would make sure to safely test the allergens (Wheat and Dairy) first. Start by cutting them in strips that are easy for baby to hold!

Storage for Spinach Waffles
These easy spinach waffles can be stored in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. But this is a great recipe to make in bulk and freeze! Just pop a piece in the microwave for 30 seconds to thaw and it’s ready for your little to enjoy!
Tools Needed for Making Spinach Waffles
Mixing Bowls: I absolutely adore my KitchenAid mixing bowls! The material is magic and makes anything not stick as much to the sides so I waste a lot less food!
Wooden Spoon: These OXO wooden spoons are perfect for mixing waffle batter!
Blender: I don’t know what I’d do without my Ninja blender. It is so powerful and I use it all the time for my toddler recipes! I love that it’s small and takes up little room in my cabinet, plus it’s so easy to clean and I put it right in the dishwasher!
Waffle Iron: You don’t need anything fancy! I use this Cuisinart waffle iron and it gets the job done!
