There’s nothing better than when springtime rolls around and the fields start filling with strawberries. I look forward to going strawberry picking every year now; it’s a fun family tradition of ours. So once we get home, I am always looking for delicious ways to use the freshly picked berries. And since I have a Ninja Creami ice cream maker now, I am obsessed with making healthy homemade ice cream for my family. So this healthy strawberry ice cream was the perfect way to use so many of the fresh strawberries we picked!
This healthy strawberry ice cream is so simple to make, with just 4 ingredients! You can use fresh or frozen strawberries; both are equally delicious. But, I highly recommend going strawberry picking first for the added family fun time.
In my healthy strawberry ice cream recipe, I sweeten it slightly with maple syrup, since I want to avoid using refined sugar whenever possible. And honestly, if you get extra sweet strawberries, then you definitely don’t even need the syrup at all!

Ingredients Needed for Healthy Strawberry Ice Cream
Strawberries: Like I mentioned, we love picking fresh strawberries in the spring. So if your berry farms are open, head there quickly to get as many as you can! Otherwise, fresh or frozen from the store will work just fine.
Coconut Cream: Makes for an extra creamy texture in this ice cream recipe! Coconut milk works too, it just won’t be nearly as creamy.
Maple Syrup: Just a little to help sweeten up this healthy strawberry ice cream recipe. It’s definitely optional though!
Lemon Juice: Acid helps to enhance the flavor, so add a touch in this healthy strawberry ice cream recipe for even better strawberry flavor!

Baby-Led Weaning for Healthy Strawberry Ice Cream
This healthy strawberry ice cream recipe can be fed to babies once they’ve started eating solids since there’s no choking hazard in this creamy dessert! However, I would probably recommend leaving out the syrup if you’re feeding a baby under 12 months old, since they really don’t need the sugar that young.

Storage for Healthy Strawberry Ice Cream
Store any leftovers (lucky you!!) in the freezer for up to 3 months. If you’re using the Ninja Creami, just take it out and use the re-spin option to get it back to a super creamy texture!
