My toddler has been obsessed with apples recently. She asks for them every day! So as the weather was getting warmer, I thought making frozen yogurt peanut butter apple slices would be a fun way to serve her the apples she’s begging for. They’re refreshing in the warm months, and have some dairy in them which I am ALWAYS working hard to incorporate into her meals.
Plus they are so incredibly simple. They take maybe ten minutes to prep and less than an hour to freeze. As for toppings? Throw on whatever you have! Of course my daughter was loving the ones with chocolate chips, I like making them with chopped up nuts too for a little added nutrition. But you can feel free to use whatever you’d like! No matter what they’re a great summer snack for kids!

Ingredients Needed for Frozen Yogurt Peanut Butter Apple Slices
Apples: I have never been an apple snob until having a toddler and now I swear by Honeycrisp. They are absolutely worth the extra cost in my opinion, since they are SO much yummier than the other types of apples. They’re sweet but not too sweet and have a really nice texture, never grainy!
Yogurt: If you’re making these Frozen Yogurt Peanut Butter Apple Slices for a young toddler, I recommend using plain whole milk yogurt so they are getting the full fats. Otherwise, you can use whatever yogurt your kiddo prefers.
Peanut Butter: I recommend using peanut butter powder for this frozen yogurt peanut butter apple slices recipe since it mixes in so easily with the yogurt. If you prefer to use regular peanut butter, microwave it for 15-30 seconds until it has thinned out a bit and is easier to mix into the yogurt.
Toppings: The world is your oyster here! Feel free to use sprinkles, chocolate chips and chopped nuts like I did, or use whatever you have on hand. Mini M&Ms would work great, and a caramel or chocolate drizzle would be so yummy too!

Baby-Led Weaning for Frozen Yogurt Peanut Butter Apple Slices
Uncooked apples can be tough for babies since they are hard and can be a choking hazard. Wait until at least 12 months old to serve these to your toddler, if not longer. Nuts are obviously a common allergen as well, so be sure to test them before combining with any other new ingredients!

Storage for Frozen Yogurt Peanut Butter Apple Slices
Store these frozen yogurt peanut butter apple slices in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two months! They are great to make in large batches, since they last a long time.

Frozen Yogurt Peanut Butter Apple Slices
Ingredients
- 1 Apple
- 1 cup Whole Milk Yogurt
- 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter Powder (or peanut butter that has been heated up to thin a bit)
- ¼ cup toppings (sprinkles, nuts, chocolate chips, mini M&Ms, caramel, etc.)
Instructions
- Slice the apples thin. Especially if you are serving young toddlers, thinner apple slices make them easier to eat and are less of a choking hazard.
- In a small bowl, mix together yogurt and peanut butter. Dip ¾ of each apple slice into the yogurt and lay on a wax paper-lined sheet pan.
- Top with preferred toppings. Freeze for 30 minutes to an hour, or until the yogurt has hardened. Enjoy!
